Counselling is a talking therapy especially helpful in tackling unhelpful thinking habits using a range of therapeutic tools and models to support people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives. I offer an integrative approach which combines a range of psychological approaches encompassing; behavioural therapies which focus on cognitions and behaviour, psychoanalytical and psychodynamic therapies which focus on the unconscious relationship patterns that evolved from childhood and humanistic therapies which focus on self-development in the here and now.
Counselling usually overlaps some techniques and I offer an eclectic mix of these techniques together with other therapies such as Gestalt therapy and TA (Transactional Analysis).
I offer support to people who are experiencing difficulties in their lives due to a varying range of crisis or life events, for example, losing a loved one, separating from a partner, divorce, redundancy, marriage, losing a family pet, work issues parenting, gaining confidence and improving self-esteem and anything that prevents you from reaching your full potential.
Therapy can last between 6 to 12 sessions or longer term and we can discuss this during your initial assessment appointment.
