My name is Frances Gedling and I am an accredited member of the National Counselling Society (NCS). I offer integrative counselling and psychotherapy using a range of therapeutic models such as, person centred, cognitive behavioural (CBT), transactional analysis (TA), psychodynamic and gestalt therapies. As an independent practitioner I work within the boundaries of the National Counselling Society’s Code of Ethics. I undertake regular continual professional development and receive regular supervision which helps me to continue to develop as counsellor.
I offer one to one talking therapy in a safe and confidential space where you can explore the difficulties you are facing. Counselling is a talking therapy that allows you to express your feelings in a non-judgemental environment.
I have also been working for a charity for over three years, supporting people through bereavement and loss. Grief and loss sadly touches all our lives as some point in time and I have been able to support many people through this fragile time. Working through our losses with a sensitive and caring therapeutic approach can help to create a feeling of acceptance over time.
Some people want to address all their issues, some people just want to make a slight improvement in their lives; sometimes further issues emerge as therapy develops.
My role is to work with you to explore problems and help facilitate new concepts, open new thinking patterns and embrace change, to enable you to be the person you aspire to be. Moving forward from a stagnant position to a more fulfilling life can be challenging at times; Counselling offers a safe and confidential space to explore the difficulties that you are facing without judgement and at your pace.
